In case you missed the blog post from VMware (http://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2014/06/virtual-volumes-public-beta.html), the vSphere Public Beta program is now open. Any one can sign up to help test the latest and greatest vSphere features. In the blog post, VMware specifically talks about the new VVols feature (virtual volumes) which I believe was first demoed at VMworld 2012. Check out the blog post to learn more about VVols or head over to the beta page and sign up for access (https://communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn/beta).
Keep in mind that while the beta is open to the public, you are still under NDA so no talking about any new features in public or with anyone that has yet to sign up for the beta.
